So right now, Greg and I are at his parent's house for a total of two weeks (it's been great so far!). One thing that I've been thinking about is the fact that we need to find an apartment, and when we do, this new place will only be ours for 6 months until Greg finishes his career course (they whole reason for the move). After that, we will move again, to some place we can call "home" for the next 3-4 years (military life). I know we won't really have a permanent home for a long while, but I do want for any place we move to to feel like home even though we can't make any permanent changes to the space.
I've been feeling inspired by decor lately, and it got me thinking about how I would like our future home to look. I'm going to divide these up into rooms and make this into a mini feature on my blog called "future plans". First up: the kitchen.
***
I want a kitchen where clean, fresh fruit, baked bread and wooden kitchen tools are put on display.
Our dishes won't be hidden. I want our friends to see what holds our food.

We will be in the kitchen first thing in the morning, and last before bed. The aroma of freshly baked bread and hot veggie soup will fill the air. My dearest friends will come over and we'll laugh and talk and vent and hug one another over cups of hot tea and cake.
Greg and I will learn and grow in this kitchen, experiment and fail, experiment and succeed, and laugh the entire journey through.

Oh the things I would do to have a kitchen like one of those... to have natural light and space would be such a treat! x
ReplyDeleteYes, I love big, bright kitchens. Can't wait to see what we get! :-)

ReplyDeleteWow I love this! Looks so familiar to me, because I was living in the country for about 20 years :)
